I would say 'D', but it's half right, half wrong.. You can open 2007 files by just double clicking it, but there is a chance your lay-out might be screwed up depending on what tools you used in word 2007 which 2003 doesn't have. Word 2003 can open .docx files.

All my boxes had to have the "File Converter" update installed to deal with .docx and .xlsx files.
