It was the Continental army, because the Continental Congress created the Association called for a complete boycott of British foods: non-importation, non-exportation etc. As the British army were the Redcoats : ) If you need a specified answer.
oh the patriots????? I think thats it...because they were against britain unlike the loyalist who were loyal to the crown. :)
