solve the inequality and show your work 3/x<5 solve the inequality and show your work 3/x<5 @Mathematics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3/x - 5 <0 (3 - 5x)/x < 0 so 3 - 5x < 0 solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3/x < 5 3 < 5x 3/5 > x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but you can't assume that x is > 0. if x < 0 then your inequality would flip.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

must solve it my way. never multiply or divide an inequality by a variable that you don't know if its positive or negative.
