you can use euclid's algorithm gcd(28,42) 42 = 28*1 + 14 so gcd(28,42) = gcd(14,28) = 14

622 = 259*2 + 104 so gcd(622,259) = gcd(259,104) 259 = 104*2 + 51 = gcd(51,104) 104 = 51*2 + 2 = gcd(2,51) = 1
