what is y=6(x+3)squared -2

OpenStudy (agreene):

\[6(x+3)^{-2}\] is that the question? or is it \[6(x+3)^2 -2 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the second one

OpenStudy (agreene):

Okay, we want to start by looking at it's parts. 6 (x+3)^2 -2 we start with the middle and expand it. (x+3)(x+3) FOIL gives us x^2+6x+9 Now we need to put that in place and see where we are. 6(x^2+6x+9) -2 distribute the 6 and get: 6x^2+36x+54 - 2 combine the likes at the end and we arrive at: \[6x^2+36x+52\]

ok thank youu!
