Is the following sentence grammatically correct? Abortion should be illegal because the mothers of the fetuses may have a deep regret of killing their unborn child.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. i see nothing wrong with it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

although, is it BIOLOGICALLY correct? do you call a 'fetus' a 'child'? :P

OpenStudy (a_clan):

Correction: 1) Abortion should be 'illegalized'. (if you are making a point and not trying to ask if it is illegal ). 2)The word "MAY" in the clause weakens the phrase. An act cannot be illegalized just because it "may" be having ill-effects. 3) deep regret 'for' killing their unborn child.
