@Mathematics f(x)= (x^2+7x-30)/((x^2+4x)) What is the vertical and horizontal asymptote??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

degree of numerator = degree of denominator (they are both 2) the horizontal asymptote is the ratio of the leading coefficients. hence \[y=1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vertical asymptotes where the denominator is = 0, so set \[x^2+4x=0\] \[x(x+4)=0\] \[x=0,x=-4\]

Hoooraayy! Thanks once again!!
