Limit of x/(x+1)^2 while x-> -1

OpenStudy (zarkon):

\[-\infty\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but why ? i can't see how to calculate this ...

OpenStudy (zarkon):

when x gets close to -1, (x+1)^2 gets really small (but positive) so the numerator is going to -1 and the bottom is going to zero from the right....that gives -infinity as the answer

thanks !
