explain using the domain theory why heating or dropping a magnet can cause it to lose its magnetization explain using the domain theory why heating or dropping a magnet can cause it to lose its magnetization @Physics

Permanent magnetism is due to the alignment of the magnetic domains inside the material. If the material is heated, the individual atoms are given more kinetic energy, and there comes a point (called the Curie point) where the organized domain structure breaks down and the magnetism is lost. Likewise, if you were to drop a magnet, the vibrations induced by the impact would destroy the domain alignment.
