Find the vertex, the line of symmetry, and the maximum or minimum value of f(x). Graph the function. f(x)=-4(x+1)^2+3 So far I have the vertex: (-1,3), The line of symmetry x=-1, but what is the maximum or minimum value of f(x)??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vertex (-1,3) axis of symmetry x= -1 maximum or minimum value is the same as the vertex. For this case it is, it is the maximum value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's a parabola so the vertex must be either minimum or maximum value

So is it just 3? I attached my problem. I'm not sure how to key in the value.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea 3

Okay, thank you! :)
