The vertex is (0,5) so the y-intercept which is c is 5. So now we have ax^2 +bx + 5 = y. Also (3.1,0) is on the graph which means that (-3.1,0) is also on the graph. Plug these points in and you get two equations: 9.61a + 3.1b+5=0 and 9.61a -3.1b +5 = 0. Solve simultaneously and get a = -.52. Plug that in and solve for b. b=0 so the equation is y = -.52x^2 + 0x +5
