In a triangle ABC (look at the picture) the line segment s bisects angle C. Show that the length of x is given by s=(2abcos(x))/(a+b)

what is x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My bad, it should say the length of s.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what angle is there inside the cos function, it cant be x as it is a side?

OpenStudy (agreene):

I really want to argue for the fact that this is only available over the complex plane... but, I suppose you're in Euclidean Geometry so I cant talk my way out of it.
