Just a guess, since hypothalamus controls body temperature and hormones (which then plays a big role in your emotions as well) and since it is linked to the endocrine and nervous system, the first thing that would happen is that the body would not be able to regulate body temperature/homeostasis, then you would cease to feel "urges" that signals your body's needs like thirst, hunger and libido for example.

the hypothalamus controls the autonomic system, so the first thing that would go haywire would be your heart rate. That would happen before your temperature or hormones could cause any significant issues.
