Please, i need answers to this question on Wave on a string, so that i can compare your solutions to mine. A steel string (with density of 7.8 g/cm3) is clamped at both ends and has a length of 40 cm. a) At which stress in the string does it oscillate in its fundamental mode with a frequency of 440 Hz? b) What is then the tension in the string assuming it has a diameter of 0.50 mm? c) What would be the normal mode frequency when the string would have half the original length, be only twice as thick and be stretched with only a quarter of the original force? @MIT 8.
