1.smooth endoplamic reticulum SER it does not contain ribosome on its surface while rough endoplamic reticulum RER contain ribosomes on its surface 2.SER secretes lipids while RER secretes proteins 3.SER mainly consist tubules while RER mainly consist cisternae 4.RER are more stable as compare to SER 5.example of SER:adipose tissue,adrenal cortex,muscle etc example of RER:liver,pancreas etc
