I know this is easy but they are a bit confusing! so I really need help! -please! :) 1. A girl pulls at the handle of a door. a) Name one force exerted in this case. b) Name the reaction of the force you named in part a). c) What do we call the two forces of part a) and part b) 2. How do we name a force? Give an example.
Umm..and for example you have an apple hanged from a celing what's the reaction?
Action force = girl pulls on handle. Reaction force = door handle pulls on girl. The action-reaction pair form an interaction. I'm not sure how else to answer part (c).
Thanks alot! yeah I thought that too for part (c) do you know the answer for the question that i have wrote above your answer? please :)
The apple-ceiling interaction? The apple pulls on the ceiling, so the ceiling pulls on the apple. In more detail: The apple pulls on the string (or whatever it's hanged with) with its weight force due to gravity, creating a tension force in the string. The string transmits that force to the ceiling pulling down on it. By Newton's Third Law, the ceiling pulls up on the apple (through the tension force in the string - acting in the opposite direction). As long as the string doesn't break, and the ceiling stays up, the system will be in equilibrium balanced by all forces.
You're awesome! really, it's like a piece of cake for you! lol I have one last question! (maybe) do you know what's point of application? if yes.. |dw:1321471194510:dw| just imagine that this a book and a rope or stick or whatever! see where I circled is this the point of application?
