VOCABULARY 1. Estimating a value between two known values in a data set is called _____ 2. The slope of a line models the ____ of a function 3. The form of a linear equation that shows the slope and one point is the _____ 4. Two lines are perpendicular when slopes are ___ 5. That line that most accurately models data in a scatter plot is the _____
1. taking an average 2. rate of increase/decrease (the tangent) 3. y-intercept form (like y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is a point known as the y intercept) 4. the opposite reciprocal of each other (like 1/2 and -2) 5. least squares regression line (best fit line). you learn about this in intro statistics courses.
1. extrapolation
average is not estimation, it is an exact value lying midway between two known values...
extrapolation is estimating a point that is not inbetween the points... i think what you meant is interpolation
but yes my bad haha for saying average.
thanks for correcting me amanda....... its, 3am in my country and i am feeling sleepy n the brain is not working as it shud......it told me that it was some "polation"........☺☻
