Is this observation and interferrence question related to quantum mechanics or the 'double slit' experiment?  If it is then the answer you have may be barking up the wrong tree, so to speak. Because if it is then the action of observation actually changes the outcome of the experiment, observing interfers with the outcome and changes it, not observing leaves the outcome without interferrence (if ypou catch my drift?).
