OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[7\sqrt{x-1} + 1 = x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this ur question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

49(x-1) = x^2 -2x +1 x^2 -51x +50 = 0 x = 50 or 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i type 50,1 ??

OpenStudy (ash2326):

we have 7sqrt(x-1)+1=x now 7sqrt(x-1)=x-1 square both sides 49(x-1)=(x-1)^2 now (x-1)^2-49(x-1)=0 take out x-1 common (x-1)(x-1-49)=0 (x-1)(x-50)=0 so either the first term is zero or the second term is 0 so x=1 or x=50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awe there we go thanks

OpenStudy (ash2326):

if u understand one type then you can solve every ques. of this type
