the vectors x1=(1,2,2) x2=(2,5,4) x3=(1,3,2) x4=(2,7,4) x5=(1,1,0) all transposed( p.s i knw how to transpose them just couldnt write them vertically here)...span R^3 PARE DOWN THE SET OF X'S to form a basis for R^3 provide a geometric representation for the result

OpenStudy (zarkon):

use \[x_1,x_2,x_5\]

OpenStudy (zarkon):

make a 3x5 matrix...then put it in rref...pick the columns that have leading ones

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i stop getting notification just seeing this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x1 x2 x5 have leading rows

OpenStudy (zarkon):

have leading ones...making them linearly independent and therefore they form a basis for \[\mathbb{R}^3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u so now i use coordinants and plot graph geometriclly?

OpenStudy (zarkon):

I guess you could graph those 3 vectors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just realized idk how to graph a 3 variable thing (1,2, 2) lengthway
