acidosis depresses cardiac function. on the algorithm for pulseless arrest you give bicarbonate (alkaline) in order to kick the heart in, so i vote for slows the heart rate

I don't know if ttom is correct but from what I know greater exercise your blood pH will decrease (ie. more acidic) something to do with greater CO2 produced..which would mean your heart rate will increase because you would be trying to get more oxygen/ get rid of CO2.
