wasiqss method is correct and is the standard approach; be careful that you need parentheses around the 229.99-180.55 which is the amount that the price dropped. Another way is to calculate the what percentage is the sale price compared to the original price:\[\frac{180.55}{229.99}*100=78.5\]This means that the sale price is 78.5 percent of the original price. Thus, there was a 100%-78.5%=21.5% discount.
yehh em a bit careless
