how do i solve the simultaneous equation: x+2y=27 and 2x-y ?

OpenStudy (alfie):

in the first one you isolate the x, like this: x = -2y +27 And plug in what you got in the second one, like this: 2(-2y+27) -y. Now you are able to solve for y, then once you got y, you can find x.
