how are cells affected by the movement of water?

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

The diffusion of water into and out of the cell determines how it will function. For example to much of water going into a cell will make it become tirgid and eventually burst, and too little or no water will dehydrate the cell which will make it shrink.

found it, highly appreciate it :)

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

Depending on the solute concentrations...... water will also move to the area of higher concentration of solute. Remember, think of water molecules as ppl and solutes are prizes. The ppl are going to want to move towards the area with the most cash prizes [Lame analogy but it works for me]
