12 less than the product of a number and -6 is it 12 > x+-6?!

OpenStudy (turingtest):

the product of a number and -6 means: -6x twelve less than that: -6x-12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i was way off... can i simplify that??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-6x?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or no?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

just factor out the -6 if you think that's "simpler"\[-6x-12=-6(x+2)\]but they are both equally simple in my opinion

OpenStudy (turingtest):

no to your answer...

OpenStudy (anonymous):
