OpenStudy (asnaseer):

I have noticed on several occasions the "you've got a medal" popup appearing many times for the same event. Even after I have visited the New Notifications page and then gone back to the Open Study page, the exact same medal popup notification appears a few seconds later. Am I doing something wrong or is this a known bug?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think after someone has given you medal and answered the question, the sign appears again.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

As an examle, the last medal I was given kept popping up more than 10 times even though on each occasion I clicked on the New Notifications link to acknowledge it.

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Yeah, I've observed odd behavior when I get multiple notifications for the same question. It seems as though OpenStudy attempts to consolidate notifications like Facebook does, and I'm willing to bet the cause is in that code somewhere.

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

- pardon, but you add those answers for medals or just for adding help to anybody who like getting on this question ?

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

This is typically a bug. If it appears repeatedly/non-stop, it's usually a sign that there's some other error that's causing issues. There are also some other bugs around consolidation, as farmdawg pointed out above, but I don't think that's the bug you're describing at the moment. I may be wrong :)

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

As another example, I got a notification that you (@shadowfiend) had just answered my question. so I went to the notification page and clicked on the notification to get here. while reading this, the notification popped up again saying that you had just answered the question.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Ah... Hm. That's very odd. So they aren't constantly coming in. Very very odd. Did you have multiple tabs open by any chance?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

if you mean in my browser - then yes. but only one of the tabs had OpenStudy in it.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

if it helps, I am running on FireFox v8.0 on a 64bit Windows 7 Enterprise Edition PC (HP Z800 Workstation)

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

woah..^ i am only using google chrome
