help meee describe the answer to this in detail, please? :) 13^y=874

hero (hero):

1. Take logs of both sides ylog(13) = log(874) 2. Solve for y y = log(874)/log(13) Not really much to explain here other than that taking logs frees variable y out of the exponent because logs and exponents are inverses of each other

thanks!
