Anyone have some general exam-taking advice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what exam are you taking?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

study!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiple choice mostly, and one huge written part at the beginning

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what subject?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for ElA ecams the aswers will be mostly B or C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Typical college algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought you weren't enrolled in college

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i don't get it, what exam are you taking then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

college algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean, if you're not enrolled at a university, in what context are you taking an exam?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think they see it as a diagnostic test for people who wish to enroll in Calculus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

who?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

probably the math department

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Who is giving you an exam, exactly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually, all students who wish to enroll in a Calculus class are given an exam by the Math department (I think) to see if they get in or not.

OpenStudy (jamesj):

What university?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand, how are you enrolling in a calculus class if you're not enrolled in a university?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I won't enroll; I am just going to take it in case I get in a uni someday

OpenStudy (jamesj):

So who exactly is running this exam?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you're not enrolling then why are you taking an exam? Why would they even give it to you? You're not being honest here.

OpenStudy (jamesj):

you're being very elliptic.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can still take the exam if I want to :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What university?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

despite myself not being an official student

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What university?

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Delete your comment then.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand why you're being so evasive. Yesterday you were asking a ton of questions on a variety of topics -- Python programs you'd copied off the web but didn't understand, C programs, math questions, Pascal's Wager questions. When I ask what kind of student you are, or what you're studying, you always give me bizarre, evasive, and inconsistent answers. Are you running a business answering people's homework questions or something?

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Actually, I've wondered about this as well. Are you a student right now, i.e., enrolled somewhere?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not currently enrolled at a university.

OpenStudy (jamesj):

are you enrolled at a high school? And you live in India, is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've actually graduated from high school.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wish I could get into a university... :-D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whose homework questions are you asking about when you come on here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my homework :-D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you have homework if you are not a student?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I work off free materials.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you being intentionally evasive? Do you honestly not understand my questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where are you planning on taking a calculus exam?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at a local uni

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one of the cheaper ones :-D not as expensive as marquette

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the name of the university?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's a really generic name.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What the hell is your problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I couldn't get into uni this year :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the name of the university?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you just a pathological liar or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To be honest if you acted anything like this when trying to enroll, it's obvious why you were rejected. I can't imagine ever wanting to hire someone, or work with someone, who answers questions this way.
