How do you find the points for this graph? y=3x+7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use y=mx+b. you can see that in this equation the y intercept (b) is 7 so that's where you start. then your slope (m) is 3/1 so you would rise 3 points on the graph and go one point to the right. and so onn

Ohh okay thanks!

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

still stuck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No i got it , but can you help me with another similar probelm?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

umm, ok.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry lol i dont get this at allll. um how would i graph it if the probelm is y=x+9 i mean the y intercept is 9 but then what do you do for the slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slope is 1/1 so you just rise 1 and run 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh okay thanks again!
