As far as i know, not all moderators know each others (administrators do). There are 3 or 4 moderators that are global moderator (they are mods in every group and can suspend users and delete questions) that have been chosen by the admins because they have helped a lot (or i supose that)

We the admins. Yes, we know each other in person (chris, owlfred, me, mattfeury, jon, darthsid, and a couple of others).

The global mods (amistre, miyninaya, and others) do not.
