General School Question? Today i recieved my first silent detention. I have never got one before. Next year i am applying to a middle college high school program. Will this detention affect my entering?
It shouldn't
It depends on the totality of your school record. If it's filled with bad grades and bad behavior marks, then yes
I suppose it would depend on the school, my detentions never amounted to anything ever, but I arn't American and I never changed schools.
I believe the transcript is responsible for giving an impression of your grades, not suspensions and other detentions. They are cleared; or should be.
i am in the 8th grade applying this year. I asked the counselor to be lenient but she was having a bad day. :(
Hero, after your done with this..could you please help me
Skhn, Don't worry. I have gotten worse than detentions in my 8th year of school. And look where I am now. Your record clears as it did for mine. However, I strongly suggest you to consult your counselor as it differs from area to area.
I know it is a bit discouraging to get a detention when you might be trying with great effort, but you should be resilient and overcome your past failures. Set your goal to be the betterment of your future =)
thanks but i am still worried. i have never had these things before. i wasn't even doing anything bad yet i still got in trouble. i am a straight A student.
thank you for the support katrinakaif
I was a top performer in Middle School and still am Skhn. And yet, it is inevitable to do mistakes. Middle School is not something that should be taken too seriously. I was very much worried as my punishment was greater than that of a detention. Your record clears, and universities only view High School transcripts. Be sure to be very careful on your choices during High School =) In addition, if you feel you have been wrongly judged, never back up on the decisions the administrators might have made. Always have the flair to question their authority in a decent manner =)
Let the past deal with its own matters. Take your sight onto the future and its prosperity =) It was a great lesson, and a little challenging to move past my differences among other students, but I did it and so can you =)
Take care hun! =D ♥
