Parametric functions often use 't' as the variable parameterizing the function. Why is 't' used so much? What does it stand for and why is that so particularly useful?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Often, we want to parameterize a function with respect to "time", hence the letter "t". This is useful in many physical applications where a physical process evolves in "time".

Thanks ;-)

np ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u expalin what a parametric function is?

hero (hero):

I would have to review this first. I have done it before

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

hero (hero):

I suppose skype isn't an option at the moment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My earphones are all the way upstairs

hero (hero):

Well, I was gonna say to give me a half-hour to review it then I would explain it to you on skype, but...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No way. It is like two in the morning. I am gonna go to bed and we will do it tomorrow

hero (hero):

Sounds like a plan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't drive urself crazy over it since tomorrow i will have time to go over the material on my own and I will work it out

hero (hero):

I will just review some concepts related to it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alrighty thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t is just a parameter we use it to represent different physical quantity as required
