Can someone explain to me what they understand about my thesis? It is a comparative essay about A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith and The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls.

Thesis: Jeannette Walls and Betty Smith in The Glass Castle and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn explains that human suffering is common, regardless of living in different eras and having different problems, but in the end it is possible to achieve one’s goals and dreams through the timeless value of support and mentor ship from others.

It's a big mouthful. If your teacher/professor isn't against 2 sentence theses, then I would go ahead and break it up. You could do one TOPIC sentence, saying Jeannete Walls and Betty Smith... (introduce novel and basic subject you will be talking about) and then have the thesis. The thesis is your claim (human suffering is common, regardless of living in different eras and having different problems, but in the end it is possible to achieve one’s goals and dreams through the timeless value of support and mentor ship from others. )
