WHAT IS THE ANSWER OF THIS? X=√3√3√3√3√...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many \[\sqrt{3}\] are there?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

do you mean this:\[x=\sqrt{3+\sqrt{3+\sqrt{3+\sqrt{3+...}}}}\] I have seen a similar problem described as this:\[x=\sqrt{6+\sqrt{6+\sqrt{6+\sqrt{6+...}}}}\] both can be solved but you need to "see" how to do it. see if you can spot out how to solve this otherwise I can give you a hint.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

consider the equation as \[x=\sqrt{x+3}\] and squaring on both sides we get \[x ^{2}-x-3=0\] by solving this equation, you get the desired result..

You should use the formula for quadratic equations after that.|dw:1322313015861:dw|
