complete the square to rewrite the equation in vertex form. y=-x^2+2x-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

start with \[y=-(x^2-2x)-7\] then \[y=-(x-1)^2+\text { stuff }\] replace x by 1 in the original expression to find the stuff. \[-(1)^2+2\times 1-7=-6\] so answer is \[y=-(x-1)^2-6\]
