Describe the situation in France before 1789.

From what I have learned, France was suffering from economic problems. There was a big gap between the poor and the rich. The poor paid large amounts of taxes while having to work day and night to barely put food on their tables. The rich or loyalists didn't pay much taxes if not any.

This make France explode into a revolution, that would bring true democracy to the world.
