OpenStudy (agentjamesbond007):

When you increase the angle of incline with a block resting on it, the normal force on the block ___?____.

OpenStudy (lilg132):

any other information given for that question?

OpenStudy (agentjamesbond007):

Unfortunately, no. I'm guessing the answer would either be "increases" or "decreases"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think "increases".

OpenStudy (lilg132):

it is always the opposite to the exerted force e.g. the force is 100N the normal force would be -100N ?

OpenStudy (agentjamesbond007):

Right, but as the angle of incline increases, the slope is more towards a vertical line and since the normal force is opposite to the box touching the surface, wouldn't it decrease? Or will it always be the same?
