what is the value of g at the centre of the earth

OpenStudy (matt101):

The value of g is 0 at the centre of the earth. Assuming the earth has an approximately constant density, the gravity imparted by the mass of every part of the earth around you cancels out, so effectively there is no net force acting on you and therefore no net acceleration.
