Need help please. Which of the following would be considered a pull factor that would encourage a person to consider migrating to a new country? A. civil war B. foreign rule C. industrial jobs D. low wages
C.
i will go with D.
it depends what time in history it is.... if it is currently go with D but if its when people were coming to the US and canada from Europe when the land was first discovered go with c
D and C work for a few reasons. However my final answer is C. The answers A and B are not "pulls" they are "kicks" so to speak. A civil war can usually be accompanied with economic collapses and all the problems with that. Foreign rule usually is disliked by the local populace and can lead to a mass exodus of people looking to escape the change of rulers (Not to mention if there are refugees). C works because you need to go where the jobs are. We have actually seen this in American for almost a century people migrated here for jobs and opportunity to succed among other reasons. D works because if a firm/country is offering a better wage then it only makes sense to go on a financial level anyway. However D has 1 major detraction yes your moving for more money ;but will you be moving into another country where your free to live as well as well as you are currently. Will you be in a religious minority or Ethnic minority? Are you labor and civil rights protected better or at least the same where you are. For that one major drawback I have to say C. If you are earning a low wage ( D ) at least you can say you make money and have a job. Better to have low wages then No wages at all.
