Find the 4 sides of a polygon with a perimeter of 74 cm. Given: 1st side =x^2 +6 2nd side = 2x^2 -5 3rd side = x^2 +2 4th side = 3x^2 +1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perimeter is sum of all sides. So, add them all, equate to 74, find x. Then, use that value of x to find the length of each side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay.thanks for your help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What did you get for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait a secs im solving ryt now.:-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got this value of x square root of 10.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cool. You just need to keep x^2 = 10. As all you need to do is then plug that value into each of the four sides given in terms of x^2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So u mean i`ll keep x^2 =10 to substitute that value of x with a given 4 sides?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay..imma try to substitute the x value.Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me know what you get for four sides and then don't forget to give me a medal. :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yehey ive got the answer of each sides..thanks a lot. here`s the medal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16, 15, 12 and 31?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thats it.:-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome! Good work.
