Advanced level isn't an easy feat. You can either get a job with decent training and you'll be advanced in 5 years, or you can take a degree in computer science and get 2 years industry experience. Either way it takes a long time. It's not all about knowing syntax, you also have to think like a computer scientist. Essentially, the language you learn with isn't paramount. I'd suggest looking at this course (MIT 6.00), Stanford's courses (e.g. cs106a, cs106b), Harvard's courses (e.g. CS50) and MIT's other courses as a starting point.
