Write the polynomial in descending order. 10x3 + 9 - 5x4 A. -5x4 + 10x3 + 9 B. 10x3 + 9 - 5x4 C. 9 + 10x3- 5x4

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Descending = "biggest first, smallest last". In this case it means "the biggest power of x comes first, then the next biggest... until the constant term".

so it would be "b"?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

all are the same check those equations term by term

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

all are equales

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so whats the answer

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

all are equales all are the same

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

all are in the form of -5x4 +10x3 +9 - check it all just are mixed

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

ok ?

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Jhonyy (and Lisa) they want the exponents IN ORDER from biggest to smallest. :) That's how you know which is correct.
