write the equation y=x-4 in standard form (Ax+By=C)

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

-x + y = 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain how you came up with that? i dont understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Standard form is writing that the sum of X and Y equals a constant number. The A and B parts of it are just numbers(called coefficients) in from of the variables. Standard form just wants the X and Y parts on the left and a constant on the right.
