would this equation be a function? equation to come

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[D:-3\le x \le 1; R:-2 \le y \le2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there an equation to go with the domain and range? Just giving the domain and range can mean anything without the equation of the line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no theres no specific equation. thats the domain and range and its put onto a graph as the domain and range are shown

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to look at the graph. Do you know how to do the vertical line test?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no sorry i dont. ive been absent from school for a week and a half so i just got this work and was told to do it with no way of knowing how

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright. The vertical line test is taking your finger and moving it left to right over the graph. If your finger touches the graph in more than one spot then it is not a function. Otherwise it's a function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay!1 that makes a lot of sense now. so this one would.....be a function. thank you so much

No problem
