A video club costs $25 to join. Each video that is rented costs $2.50. Let v represent the number of videos. Identify the independent and dependent variables. Then, write a rule in function notation for the situation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

independent will be what will never change ie. the video club join cost dependent will be the variable that will change ie. the amount that you spend on videos so to wright a rule, you would have to do the cost of each video times v (the number of videos) + the cost it costs to join the club

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so to write it in a mathmatical equation would be like \[fv=25v-2.5\] correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically your answer would be 2.5(v) + 25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because the 2.5 is the independent variable that never changes
