how do you find the minimums and concavity of a graph of the derivative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Same way you would with any other function. e.g. to find turning points, differentiate the function, equate to zero and solve for the given argument.

To find the max's and min's you find the critical numbers of the function by finding the first derivative and set it equal to 0. Evaluate the function to the left and to the right of the critical numbers. To find concavity you use the second derivative and find possible Inflection points. Evaluate the function to the left and right of the inflection points.
