How are cytosol and cytoplasm different?

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

The cytosol is the portion not within membrane-bound organelles Cytoplasm is vice versa

Thank you! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cytosol is only the jelly like fluid found inside the cell, cytoplasm is everything inside the plasma membrane of the cell except the nucleus

OpenStudy (matt101):

bstsktr1985 is right - the cytosol is a specific part of the cytoplasm
