For a triangle with sides a, b and c, what is the range of the length of side c? a = 15, b = 8, c =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The smallest angle between sides a & b can be little over zero. In that case, the minimum value of the 3rd side will be the difference between a and b. =>7. The largest angle between sides a and b can be almost 180. In that case, the maximum value of the 3rd side will be the sum of a and b. => 23. So, the range for c is 7 to 23.

thanks!! really helped

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a + b < or equal to c c + b < or equal to a a + c < or equal to b \[23 \le c ; c \le 7\]
