12 less than the product of a number and -6 = -6(x-12)? am i right? and to simplify is it x - 72? or am i wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if i am reading your answer correctly: "the product of a number" comes first, and then you subtract 12 from that, so -6x - 12 if you really want to simplify it further, you could say -6 (x + 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get 2? O:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i divided -12 by -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you dont need to multiply them???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you mean, because it says "product"? no- i did that when i wrote "-6x".. that's the product of -6 and x

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh
