Forty percent of the birds were robins. How many birds are robins?

hero (hero):

?

hero (hero):

40%

OpenStudy (matt101):

40% were robins...haha

hero (hero):

I wish all math problems were this easy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the acutal number not the %

OpenStudy (matt101):

WAIT MAYBE ROBIN IS SOMEONE'S NAME. IT'S A TRICK QUESTION. 0% WERE ROBINS BECAUSE 100% WERE HUMANS.

hero (hero):

You didn't give us anything else to work with here. Post the whole entire problem then we can appropriately assist you

hero (hero):

No Matt. Re-read the first sentence.

OpenStudy (matt101):

Maybe "The Birds" is the name of an exclusive club that only people named "Robin" can join...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean post the whole problem?

OpenStudy (matt101):

How many birds were there to begin with?

OpenStudy (espex):

40/100 of the birds were robins. :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats the enitre question in the book.

OpenStudy (matt101):

Well it has to give you something to work with. Is the question about a paragraph or something that gives you more information? It must say somewhere how many birds there were to begin with, or at least give you a way to figure it out (from a graph or chart or something). We can't give you an exact number unless we know.
